Pastor Johnny M. Dunbar has been involved in ministry since 1982. He and his wife Marlene have been married since 1976. They have 2 daughters, Hope Massey and Toni Langford (Jeff) and 5 grandchildren, Shelby, Hunter and Jon Jon Massey, Jeffrey, and Emma Langford, as well as 3 great grandchildren Payslee, Willow and Alivia.

Hope leads the Praise Team at Heritage Hope and Toni serves with her husband who is the pastor of the Faith Hope Love Church of God in Science Hill, Ky. Bro. Dunbar has been a credentialed minister in the Church of God since 1983. He has held the rank of Ordained Bishop since 1988.

Johnny and Marlene began their ministry together in October 1982 at their home church, the Bernard Ridge Church of God near Russell Springs, Ky. In November 1983 they came to the Heritage Hope Church, then the Cotter Ave. Church of God, to serve in the Ministerial Internship Program. During this time, they also served as the Youth Leaders for the church.

In November 1984 they assumed the pastorate of the Monticello Church of God where they would serve until August 1990. From August 1990 until August 1996, they would serve the Holmes Street Church of God in Frankfort, Ky.

They began their present pastorate on August 25, 1996, at the Cotter Ave. Church of God at 163 Cotter Ave. In October 1998 the church purchased 9 acres of property at 810 Bourne Ave. and built the facility in which they presently worship.
